So much has happened these last few months but one single event in April was really the standout. This month we welcomed a beautiful little boy in to our family.
I knew when I'd meet my nephew that my heart would burst out of my chest.
I knew I'd cry and I knew that he'd be loved.
But what I didn't expect is the impact he would have on all of us. So quickly.
MOMENTS THAT MATTER | FEBRUARY 2017
February. What a month!
School started back and the morning rush has taken us longer to adjust to than it should. We're always late!
Our veggie garden (or more accurately, our eight year olds veggie garden) has taken off and we're all now well and truly sick of beans but excited about the pumpkins! She's convinced that we're going to be farmers.
We've said goodbye to three fish, including the favourite, 'Tuna' and it was highly likely due to a six year old who's been excitedly over feeding them...
We baked chocolate brownies. (The kids wanted me to write this in here as a highlight for the month because I NEVER bake brownies... It's better for everyone when I buy them at the supermarket...!)
MOMENTS THAT MATTER | DECEMBER 2016
Like all holidays, it went too fast. There was missing shoes and lost entry cards into a theme park, a flat tyre, the kids winged more times than we care to remember and there was one trip to the local doctors. It also took us one hour to lug the bags and overtired kids from the terminal to the car on the way home...
But more memorably, goggles were called gaggles which lead to giggles, our little daredevil forced us to go on ALL the roller coasters where her height allowed, we won best family dancers at the kids club disco, Holly magically found us and entertained the kids every morning, and we swam, laughed, played and listened to the kids Christmas lists which changed every day. It was the best.
And just to show that I was there and not just behind the camera…I’ve included my new favourite photo of the kids and I taken by my wonderfully talented husband who tells me he’ll me opening his own instagram account called ‘I take better photos than my wife' very soon! No doubt he'll ask me to set up the camera up and edit the photos then too... ;)

I can't believe we are almost at the end of October already!
Highlights from this month have included a lost 'first' tooth and visit from the tooth fairy, a crazy dream about being chased by a corn cob on roller-skates which has since given us endless amusement and most excitedly - we have a walker! Another one. Gone are the days of putting him in one spot and keeping him there because not only has he learned to walk this month, he's also learnt to climb - on, up and around EVERYTHING! The window ledge is his new favourite standing spot as he shouts "bird, bird!" every times he sees one and given the opportunity, he can escape out the front door quicker than I could for a kid free night out!
